The Stowers Institute focuses on fundamental research in areas such as genetics, developmental biology, and bioinformatics. The Stowers Institute is known for its state-of-the-art research facilities and needed to remodel several of their laboratory spaces. 

Treadwell Solution

Treadwell installed a decorative flake epoxy floor over a urethane cement mortar for long term durability with excellent chemical resistance. All floors included an integral cove base.

Benefits

Epoxy floors are durable and can withstand heavy foot traffic and the movement of heavy equipment. This is important in pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory settings where equipment and materials may be moved around frequently.
