Project Description
Sporting KC Stadium
Project Details
Project Overview
Sporting Kansas City opened their new stadium in 2011 with the goal of offering the best fan experience in professional sports. Each year Sporting invests in their facility to keep it best in class.
In 2019, Sporting decided the main concourse needed some attention. Pit marks from years of winter salt treatments started to appear as well as small cracks around the concourse. In addition to correcting these issues, Sporting wanted to increase the visual appeal of the Stadium
Treadwell Solution
Treadwell partnered with Sporting to provide a MMA epoxy floor around the concourse. Treadwell created 8 custom samples for Sporting to pick from to achieve the perfect color and texture. While installing the coating, Treadwell placed graphics in the floor system to identify section numbers and showcase the new Sporting KC + Treadwell partnership.
Benefits
The MMA epoxy floor restored the concrete damage and will protect the concourse for many years to come. The floor pattern Sporting chose enhances the visual appeal of the stadium over basic concrete while adding traction for safety. Additionally the section number graphics installed help fans navigate to their seats and the large Sporting crest lets opposing fans know they are in Sporting’s house.
