Project Description
Blue Springs Fire Station
Project Details
Project Overview
An internationally-recognized fire department, Blue Springs Fire Station provides extraordinary emergency, non-emergency, and educational services. The station needed a new floor that could bear the heavy weight of the fire trucks without damage or excessive wear and provide a safe, slip-resistant surface. They also needed durable, waterproof floors and walls for their locker rooms and showers.
Treadwell Solution
Treadwell installed traffic coating in the vehicle bay, adding aggressive aggregate for slip-resistance. Decorative quartz epoxy floors and walls were installed in the locker areas.
Benefits
The station’s vehicle bay floor provides the durability needed to hold up to vehicle traffic that includes their massive fire trucks. The aggregate prevents slip-and-fall accidents when water from the trucks is on the floor. The seamless floors and walls in the showers, with no grout lines or joints to collect bacteria or hold water, create an environment that is extremely hygienic.
